Strive White Wins Gold & Strive Black Earns Bronze at the ACBC Arena Soccer Championships
This past weekend, our players delivered a standout performance at the ACBC Arena Soccer Championships. As a Surrey soccer academy focused on long-term development, this event offered a strong opportunity to evaluate our training methods in a competitive arena environment. It quickly became clear that our balanced team approach and high standards paid off.
Rather than stacking one dominant roster, we intentionally created balanced squads combining our 2013 boys with multiple advanced 2014 high-performance athletes. Since the tournament was a 2013-born / U13 event, this structure challenged the younger players appropriately. It also aligned with our biobanding process, which places athletes in environments based on readiness rather than age alone. As a result, both teams showed maturity, adaptability, and technical quality throughout the event.
Ultimately, Strive White took Gold, and Strive Black earned Bronze, confirming the depth of our program and the effectiveness of our training curriculum.
Gold Medal – Strive White
Strive White demonstrated excellent composure, fast decision-making, and strong technical execution. Because arena soccer demands quick reactions and nonstop transitions, the group had to rely on both their training habits and their understanding of the game. Consequently, they controlled key moments, dictated tempo, and secured the championship.
Bronze Medal – Strive Black
Meanwhile, Strive Black also performed at a consistently high level. The team battled through competitive matches, and their resilience was evident in tight moments. The inclusion of several 2014 high-performance players — successfully competing up — further validated our biobanding approach. Their ability to contribute meaningfully in a 2013/U13 tournament highlighted the effectiveness of our high-performance soccer program and the quality of development happening within our academy.
MVP Performances
Two athletes earned MVP recognition for their outstanding performances:
Sahil Janda
Aryan Mangat
Both players displayed leadership, consistency, and high-level execution across the weekend. Their influence on the pitch helped elevate the overall team performance.
What These Results Show
Collectively, the results reflect the core strengths of our youth soccer development program in Surrey:
-
First, balanced teams can still produce competitive results when training foundations are strong.
-
Second, biobanding ensures players are challenged at the right developmental stage.
-
Third, our methodology builds adaptable, intelligent players who can thrive in multiple environments.
These outcomes reinforce why Strive continues to grow as a high-performance soccer academy in Surrey and why our training model prepares athletes for long-term success.
Proud, but Always Moving Forward
We are extremely proud of every athlete who represented Strive this weekend. Their discipline, intensity, and willingness to embrace challenges reflect the identity of our program. Although the results were excellent, we remain focused on continued improvement and the next stages of each player’s development.
Strive White and Strive Black showcased the strength of our player pool, and most importantly, the effectiveness of a development-first philosophy.
